Third Doorway is heartache on the otherside of tomorrow gone right, or gone just gone, waiting and how empty the sheets are with some kind of neon saudades, an ethereal ladylove sings out from behind the smog that makes a mystery out of this pulsing, lonely city. And you're on the Q from Bowery to Brooklyn, head against the glass, connection lost, heart all sad fluttering on your sleeve, the rattle of the train bringing you no closer to where you really want to be doors and doors open and people and people pulsing in and out casting one and all a glance at your heartache, your head nodding to the beat. It's all sad and lonely but hot and living and that thump in your breast pocket reminding you of all that's missing, and how the beat knows you better'n these people in people out, and waiting for you back at the hotel room it's all cold, you know.

Waiting, waiting. And didn't that freedom sound so good, but now how thin n slippery it is, how hard to see through all the neon smoke and tall tall glass. It's a lonely ride from a to b. No place more intimate, cool, cold, lonely. And in that moment I decide it's time to reset. This time, this time I'll walk through that door into your arms and this time I'll remember to stay for good, but just then in through those subway doors walks a couple of lovers hand in hand but it's all chains and weight and behind them the bustle and bump. So that beast lingers in the metal tube tonight and I look for another door to try and escape through it and maybe it's for the best I'm here off alone free, not there with you stuck and dying, but then the song changes, pulse, just like that, and the wheels start moving again in time and from a million miles away I can hear your heartbeat and I can't think a thing but I wanna be by you and I see it's all hot wet pink chrome and I'm falling into it, beat by beat. And there in some dark back alley I find that third door, so with half-lidded eyes I'm dancing alone on a blacklit dancefloor of millions, pleading with the deep dark thump that tomorrow morning will look different and I'll get to see you wake up and change.
